How to migrate a hosting service to Mind Byte

Moving your website to Mind Byte is designed to be as painless as possible. In most cases, all you need to do is submit a support ticket and we'll take care of the migration for you, no additional costs required.

How to get started

Head to mindbyte.com.au/contact or submit a ticket through the Portal. Let us know:

• The domain name you're migrating

• Who your current hosting provider is

• If you don't have a service already, which plan you'd like to migrate onto (see hosting plans if you're not sure). If needed, we can create a custom package just for you.

From there, we'll confirm what access details we need based on your current setup.

cPanel hosting

If your current host uses cPanel (most shared hosting providers do), we can migrate your files, databases, and email accounts directly. We'll need:

• Host: your cPanel server address (usually something like server123.yourhost.com)

• Username: your cPanel login username

• Password: your cPanel login password

You can usually find these in your welcome email from your current host, or in their client portal.

Other hosting (FTP access)

If your host doesn't use cPanel, we can still migrate your site using FTP. We'll need:

• FTP host: provided by your current host

• FTP username

• FTP password

If you also have a database (e.g. a WordPress site), we'll need a database export too — your current host may be able to provide this, or we can walk you through how to export it.
